Reference Services
GETS Library provides reference services including inquiries about searches on books, periodicals, multimedia materials, etc. The librarianalso Information services and usage assistance on research databases and e-resources.
Library Collection & Facilities
GETS Library provides open-shelved display for its general and special collections, references, and periodicals, allowing readers to freely choose and read in the library. The Library also provides personal research areas, a group discussion room and a multimedia room for patrons to use.

- Selecting Your Topic

- Select a research area/subject
- Establish research topics
- List important concepts based on research topics
- List related Chinese and English vocabulary, i.e. keyword(s), based on important concepts
- Understanding Keywords & Developing Search Strategies

- Use dictionaries, encyclopedias and other reference tools to look up the definitions of keywords, and their related Chinese/English synonyms
- Use all the keywords for searching and use Boolean logic (AND/OR/NOT) to formulate search strategies to facilitate the search for reference documents such as books, journal articles, dissertations, etc. on the subject.
- Finding Books

- Search in Koha, GETS Library's online catalog, by entering keywords to query and borrow them (for on-campus students only)
- Search in WorldCat or other bibliographic websites from public or academic libraries of universities or research institutes by entering keywords to query
- Finding Articles

- In Chinese: Go to the websites such as Chinese Christians Periodical Index compiled by Alliance Bible Seminary (Hong Kong) or ATLAS PLUS by Ebscohost, etc.and enter the keywords to search,
- In English: Log in with your patron's account and password through Ebscohost, then type in the keywords to search in its online databases to get the full-text journal articles.

- Chinese: Use the Chinese theses/dissertation databases suggested under the side menu of "Library Catalog -Theses & Dissertations" on the GETS Library webpage or the webpages regarding to theses & dissertations from other Chinese seminaries around the world.
- English: Use the dissertation databases from Ebsco or ProQest, etc.
