DEGREE PROGRAMS


Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)1

(Not offered on the U.S. campus)

  • Purpose

    China is on the rise, and Chinese churches must be equipped to meet today’s challenges. This PhD program is designed for the purpose of equipping students to become theological educators and researchers in order to meet such needs, acquiring academic acumen and spiritual insights and suggesting realistic alternatives. Together with the global Church at large, we may stand as living witnesses to the Gospel.

  • Goal

    Our graduates are expected to develop creative and research ability to be able to conduct high level theological education, and to become Christian leaders effectively responding to challenges.

  • Admission Qualification
    1. Obtained degrees in Th.M. or equivalent from the schools that are recognized by GETS, and graduated with GPA of 3.0 or higher
    2. Obtained Chinese communication and English reading skills
    3. Obtained considerable ability in handling English, Greek, Hebrew, and other language skills related research areas
    4. Acquired at least 5 years church ministry or theological teaching experience
    5. Acquired a proof of English proficiency. A TOEFL score of 540 on the paper and pencil test or 71 on the Internet-based test. TOEFL requirement may be waived for applicants having obtained academic degree from an English program.
    6. Engaged in depth of theological study and reflection
    7. Obtained a mature Christian character
  • Research Area

    New Testament, Old Testament, Theology, Church History, Practical Theology.

Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

(Not offered on the U.S. campus)

  • Purpose

    The Doctor of Ministry program is designed to prepare students for advanced studies in ministry, with a focus on promoting their spiritual growth, theological understanding, and ability to serve Chinese communities.

  • Goal

    Graduates from this program are expected to achieve the following:

    1. To form well-shaped spiritual life and character.
    2. To fully grasp advanced knowledge of theological studies with integral concept of ministry skills.
    3. To acquire and develop ability of ministering for cross-culture churches in order to serve professionally and practically and effectively in their ministry contexts.
  • Admission Qualification
    1. Master of Divinity degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.3 (B+ or 86.5%) or above.
    2. At least five years’ experience in full-time ministry with good standing after receiving the M.Div degree. Applicants who have two years’ experience in full-time ministry before receiving M.Div, needs one year’s experience in full-time ministry with M.Div.
    3. Two recommendations from church pastors or leaders to demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity.
    4. Complete the admission application form.

      2. Self-evaluation (include spiritual growth, ministry experience, advantages, disadvantages and the reasons for changing ministry field if applicable)
      3. Study Plan, indicating the subject that applicant intends to do and why this subject worthy of attention.
    5. Interview, either in person or online.
    6. Proof for English proficiency. We require minimum TOEFL score of 450/45(TOEFL iBT). Applicants with a Bachelor or higher degree from an English institution are exempt from this requirement.
    7. For Non-Native Chinese applicants, we require proof of Chinese proficiency to meet our course language requirement and need for future ministry.
    8. We do not offer or accept any Ability-to-benefit Exam.
  • Graduation Requirements

    Students are required to complete 46 semester units of course work with a graduate dissertation. The passing grade point average is 3.0(B) or above.

  • Duration and Location

    The program must be complete between 4 to 5 years, including a graduation dissertation. Students may petition to extend for two more years and the maximum year to complete is seven years. In order to ensure a communal education experience, students shall be completed the degree on campus with at least 1 years for full-time study.

Master of Theology (Th.M.)

(Not offered on the U.S. campus)

  • Purpose

    The Master of Theology program is designed to prepare students for an advanced theology study, to strength their research ability and prepare them to teach in a seminary or university in the future. For students who want to pursue higher level of theological and practical studies programs, it is also the degree requirement for admission to Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy programs.

  • Goal

    Graduates from this program are expected to achieve the following:

    1. To form well-shaped spiritual life and character.
    2. To fully grasp advanced knowledge of biblical, theological, and church history studies with integral concept of ministry skills.
    3. To acquire and develop ability of ministering and academic research in order to serve professionally and practically and effectively in their ministry contexts.
  • Admission Qualification
    1. Master of Divinity degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.3 (B+ or 86.5%) or above.
    2. Baptized at least 3 years and had a call to the ministry of theological education or theological research
    3. Two recommendations from church pastors or leaders to demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity.
    4. Complete the admission application form.
    5. Pass the Seminary entrance tests of biblical and theological knowledge.
    6. Proof for English proficiency. We require minimum TOEFL score of 530/71(TOEFL iBT). Applicants with a Bachelor or higher degree from an English institution are exempt from this requirement.
    7. Study Plan, indicating the subject that applicant intends to do and why this subject worthy of attention.
    8. A writing sample with 12,000-15,000 words to demonstrate the applicant’s research and critical thinking ability.
    9. Interview, either in person or online.
    10. For Non-Native Chinese applicants, we require proof of Chinese proficiency to meet our course language requirement and need for future ministry.
    11. We do not offer or accept any Ability-to-benefit Exam.
  • Graduation Requirements

    Students are required to complete 36 semester unis of course work with a graduate dissertation. The passing grade point average is 3.0(B) or above.

  • Duration and Location

    The program must be complete between 3 to 4 years, including a graduation dissertation. In order to ensure a communal education experience, students shall be completed the degree on campus with at least 1 years for full-time study.

Master of Divinity (M.Div)

(Not offered on the U.S. campus)

  • Purpose

    The Master of Divinity program is a comprehensive graduate theological program covering a wide range of general and specialized subjects, and is designed to provide a foundational level of professional training for those who have sensed a call to ministry from the Lord and have committed their lives to full-time service in local churches, missions, or para-church organizations. For students who want to pursue higher level of theological and practical studies programs, it is also the degree requirement for admission to Doctor of Ministry, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Philosophy programs.

  • Goal

    Graduates from this program are expected to achieve the following:

    1. To form well-shaped spiritual life and character.
    2. To deepen understanding of God and to fully grasp advanced knowledge of biblical, theological, and church history studies with integral concept of ministry skills.
    3. To discover and develop their God-given gifts, and to acquire and develop ability of ministering and leadership in order to serve professionally and practically and effectively in their ministry contexts.
  • Admission Qualification
    1. 1. A bachelor or higher degree from a four-year university of Bible college/seminary with GPA of 2.7 (B- or 80%) or above.
    2. Had been converted and baptized for at least three years, with a clear calling or the commitment in full-time ministry.
    3. Two recommendations from church pastors or leaders to demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity.
    4. Complete the admission application form.
    5. Pass the Seminary entrance tests of biblical and theological knowledge.
    6. Proof for English proficiency. We require minimum TOEFL score of 450/45(TOEFL iBT). Applicants with a Bachelor or higher degree from an English institution are exempt from this requirement.
    7. For Non-Native Chinese applicants, we require proof of Chinese proficiency to meet our course language requirement and need for future ministry.
    8. We do not offer or accept any Ability-to-benefit Exam.

Master of Arts in Christian Studies (M.A.C.S.)

  • Purpose

    The Master of Arts in Christian Studies program is designed to prepare students who have a calling from or a heart for the Lord to participate in full-time or part-time ministries in local churches, missions, or para-church organizations with a focus on certain professional ministry, such as teaching and counseling. This degree is a specialized ministry program designed for people who are exploring the possibility that they are gifted for and called to the service of God. The curriculum covers the basic areas of theology, biblical studies and ministry.

  • Goal

    Graduates from this program are expected to achieve the following:

    1. To form strong spiritual life and character.
    2. To pursue understanding of God and attain basic knowledge of biblical theological studies with needed ministry skills.
    3. To discover and develop their God-given gifts, and to acquire and develop ability for serving in their specific contexts.
  • Admission Qualification
    1. A bachelor or higher degree from a four-year university or Bible college/seminary with a GPA of 2.7 (B- or 80%) or above.
    2. Had been converted and baptized for at least two years.
    3. Two recommendations from church pastors or leaders to demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity.
    4. Complete the admission application form
    5. Pass the Seminary entrance tests of biblical and theological knowledge.

  • Admission Qualification
    1. High school graduates or equivalence
      (Note : Candidate with a four-year vocational school diploma is equivalent to high school diploma, and must complete the total required credits.)
    2. Graduates of vocational college may reduce the study credits
      (Note: Candidates with a two-year college degree can only receive a Bachelor's degree upon completion of 60 credits. Candidates with a five-year vocational school diploma will follow the same criteria as candidates with a two-year college degree)
    3. Been baptized for at least two years with active participation in ministry, and is Willing to be equipped to better serve in ministry
  • Special Cases
    1. Candidates with a high school diploma, if for any reason cannot continue with the program, upon completion of 60 credits will receive an Associate Bachelor of Arts in Theology degree. The candidate must complete another 60 credits within credit effective period in order to receive a degree in B.Th.
    2. Candidates with a four-year vocational school diploma, if for any reason cannot continue with the program, upon completion of 60 credits will receive an Associate Bachelor of Arts in Theology degree. The candidate must complete another 30 credits within credit effective period in order to receive a degree in B.Th.

Associate of Arts in Theology (A.A.Th.)1

    1. High School graduate or equivalence.
    2. Been converted and baptized for at least two years with active participation in ministry.
